Joining Munchables has never been easier. Whether you’re a crypto native or a complete beginner, you can now start playing and earning with just your Twitter, Discord or GitHub account.
Free to Play or Connect a Wallet
When a new player joins via the 'Free to Play' route, Munchables create a crypto wallet for them. A player may decide to never open this wallet, however, if at any point they decide that they want to lock funds and become a crypto player (earn daily schnibble emissions and plots of land), they can expand the game - allowing them to progress even quicker.
Start Playing The Game
Primordials
Every new player (whether connecting via their social media account or connecting via a wallet) will be gifted a Primordial Pod in order to hatch a Munchable.
Once the pod has been fed 750 schnibbles, it will hatch into a Munchable.
Players can complete tasks to earn schnibbles. For example, by linking their socials or completing a daily ‘Schnibble Spinner’ or ‘Daily Check-In’ game, they will earn schnibbles.
1) Free to Play
Munchables is a web3 game built on the Blast network. Typically it is a requirement of such games to connect a crypto wallet in order to cover the gas costs associated with the transactions used to complete in-game tasks. This is usually a fraction of a cent per transaction, but necessary to prevent bad actors from disrupting a network through spamming transactions.
To a ‘no coiner’ (someone who is yet to leap into the world of crypto) creating a wallet and adding funds can often be a daunting task.
At Munchables, we want to embrace crypto natives and no coiners alike. To assist those with little experience of the mechanics of web3 and crypto, we have developed a free to play model that not only supports the player by covering the gas costs for free to play users, but also creates their first crypto wallet.
Once a Primordial Pod is hatched, the player owns their very own NFT. This in itself has a value and can be sold on the secondary market. Some Munchables are more rare than others and will attract higher prices. Likewise, if a player continues to feed their Munchable post-hatching and ‘level it up’, this too will potentially add value to their NFT.
2) Connect a Crypto Wallet
For those already versed in web3 and the Ethereum network, sign-up can be completed by connecting your Blast-enabled wallet.
In the first iteration of the game, players were required to lock ETH for a number of days in order to mint a Munchable; the more you staked, the bigger your schnibble emissions.
This is no longer a requirement and new players can hatch their first Munchable from a Primordial, the same as with ‘free to play’.
Whilst there is not a requirement to stake ETH to mint a Munchable, staking ETH will still yield in-game benefits.
Schnibble Emissions
Depositing funds (USDB, ETH or Blast) will generate a daily emission of schnibbles that can be used to feed your Primordial Pod and hatch it more quickly
This can also be used to level up your hatched Munchables
Farmland
With enough funds deposited (~$30 worth), you will be allocated a piece of farmland
You can invite other players to farm this land with their Munchables. They earn schnibbles through farming your plot, and in return, they pay you a tax for the privilege
The rate of tax is under your control allowing healthy competition and the opportunity for strategic recruitment
The more funds you lock, the more plots you gain, and the more schnibbles you can earn. This will allow you to feed your Primordial more quickly and level up your Munchables once hatched.
